Ms. Cartwright

I am an art teacher, mother of two awesome sons, and full-time dreamer and creator. I like to read, draw, create, art journal, write, flower garden, drink coffee, and be inspired by beautiful things. I like cats, mountains, autumn, trees, chocolate, and many more things. I am a follower of the Way, Jesus. I love the truth, and honor, and imagination. I like silver. Roses.

I am a graduate of Shelbyville Central High School (Go Eagles!), have a Bachelor of Art in English and Art from Middle Tennessee State University. I have taught for fifteen years in many capacities, and plan toΒ teach many more.

I do not have time to make much art right now, so much of the work I’ve posted isn’t very recent, to say the least.Β Β

      Aranza,
      This is amazing.
Yes, I cried at one point; I thought about 2nd grade on the swing set and a boy named Chris who called me a name. It dredged up some old pain. “To this day..” is right. I have some things that to this day I deal with. I think we all do.
Even though I would like to go back sometimes, this video is why I never would. It does get better. As an adult, I can be as different, as wierd, as ME, as I want to without worrying about being called names or talked about. And if they talk, well, let them ;).
It is so clear. We are ALL valuable, imperfect, worthy, capable of being beautiful. The ones hurting others the worst, you know what? They’re the ones hurting the worst. It’s a vicious cycle, but it helps to know that.
My own healing came only from God. When I understood that HE loved me, considered me valuable..when our relationship clicked those old wounds began healing.
Thank you so much for sharing! I’m going to post this…too good not to. I think everyone should see this.

To find the final just go to this link: schsart.edublogs.org. That takes you right to the front page of the website, where the final is.
If you still have any problems, just email me (go to the very top of the webpage, below “Art and Soul” you will see about five different links to click on–one of them is “Contact Me.” Click on that, and you can email me if you need to.)
    Thanks! :):)

Kacie, I thank you so so much for your kind words :)…I think people forget that teachers need to hear them too! I hope you have a wonderful summer, and I count on seeing you next year. Just remember, you have a lot of potential — God made you exactly the way He wanted to for a reason, a great reason. I can’t wait to find out! See ya later! πŸ˜€
